The most requested acrylic looks are French tips, nude, pink, chrome and coffin or almond shapes. Choose shape and length first, then the finish.

French tips
The classic. A natural or pink base with a clean white tip. Works at any length. Read the French tips guide.

Nude
Skin-tone shades that look polished and go with everything. The trick is matching your undertone. See the nude acrylics guide.

Pink
From soft baby pink to bright fuchsia, often paired with ombre or a French tip. Ask for a pink that suits your skin tone, not just the photo.

Chrome
A mirror-like metallic finish, usually a chrome powder rubbed over gel. Silver, gold and pearl are the common picks. Chrome shows file marks, so the shape needs to be smooth.

Short
Short acrylics give strength without the length. A good first set and practical for work, typing and housework.

Long
Long sets suit statement art and marble effects. They need more care and some menus price extra long separately.

Coffin
Tapered sides with a flat square tip. Needs some length. Read the coffin nails guide.

Almond
Slim sides and a soft rounded point. Flattering on most hands and less likely to snag than a stiletto.

Hand painted art
Florals, lines and characters painted by hand. Nairobi menus often price art per nail, so count the accent nails you want.
How to brief your technician
- Bring two or three photos of the look.
- Say the length you will actually live with.
- Ask whether the design changes the price.
Design work is one of the main price factors. For bridal sets, book a trial and a refill a few days before the day.
